Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Property Edge Tradings Limited ("we", "us", "our") when you use the Property Edge mobile app ("the App"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
1. About us
Property Edge Tradings Limited (trading as Property Edge) is a company registered in England and Wales. You can contact us at developer@property-edge.co.uk.
2. Definitions
- "App" means the Property Edge mobile application available on the Apple App Store.
- "Estimate" means an indicative cost calculation produced by the App based on your scans and inputs.
- "Enquiry" means a message you choose to send through the App requesting a fixed quote.
- "Subscription" means a paid Basic or Premium plan within the App.
- "Content" means any text, image, scan, or other material you submit through the App.
3. Eligibility
By using the App, you confirm that:
- You are 18 years of age or older;
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
- You will provide accurate information when creating your account.
The App is intended for use in the United Kingdom. We do not currently offer it in other regions. If you use the App from outside the UK, you do so on your own initiative and we make no representations about its suitability or compliance with local law.
4. Your account
To use most features of the App you need an account. You agree to:
- Keep your sign-in details confidential;
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account;
- Notify us immediately at developer@property-edge.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
5. What the App does
The App provides:
- Camera-based measurement of walls, floors, rooms, and other property surfaces using your phone's AR capabilities;
- Indicative cost estimates for property maintenance, refurbishment, and construction work based on those measurements and the information you provide;
- The ability to save estimates and group them into projects;
- The option to send your estimates as an enquiry for a fixed quote.
The App is provided as-is. We do our best to make it work well, but it is a tool, not a substitute for professional advice.
6. Estimates — important limitations
This section is the single most important part of these Terms. Please read it carefully.
The estimates produced by the App are indicative only. They are not quotes, they are not binding on us or any other contractor, and they cannot be relied upon as the final cost of any work.
Estimates are intended to give you a reasonable ballpark figure for typical UK market costs for the work described. They are based on:
- Measurements taken by your phone's camera, which are approximate;
- A general dataset of UK property maintenance costs;
- Mid-market material assumptions;
- A regional adjustment based on your postcode;
- Standard rate of VAT (20%) at the time of estimate.
The actual cost of any work will depend on factors the App cannot know, including:
- The specific condition of your property;
- Site access, scaffolding, or specialist equipment needs;
- Hidden or structural issues;
- Material specifications you choose;
- The individual contractor you instruct.
You acknowledge that:
- Real-world costs may be significantly higher than the App's estimates;
- A proper survey by a qualified contractor is required for an accurate quote;
- You will not make significant financial commitments based on the App's estimates alone;
- We are not responsible for any decision you make based on an estimate, except as set out in section 13 below.
7. Subscriptions and billing
7.1 Plans
The App offers a Free tier and two paid subscription plans:
- Free — no charge. A limited number of estimates and projects each month, with wall and floor scanning.
- Basic — £12.99 per month or £139.00 per year.
- Premium — £29.99 per month or £299.99 per year.
The paid plans unlock higher or unlimited estimate and project allowances and additional features. The current list of what each plan includes is shown in the App before you subscribe. Prices are shown in the App through the Apple App Store and include any applicable VAT; the price you pay is the price Apple displays at the time of purchase.
7.2 Free tier
The App includes a Free tier that you can use at no cost, with a limited monthly allowance of estimates and projects. We do not currently offer a free trial of the paid plans — you can remain on the Free tier for as long as you like and upgrade whenever you choose.
7.3 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
7.4 How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Property Edge, and choose Cancel Subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access to paid features until that date. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
7.5 Refunds
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, and refund requests are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you believe you have been charged in error, you can also contact us at developer@property-edge.co.uk and we will help where we can.
7.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect. If you do not agree to the new price, you can cancel before the change applies.
8. Acceptable use
When using the App, you agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose;
- Submit false or misleading information;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code;
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the App;
- Submit content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data;
- Interfere with the App's normal operation or security;
- Use the App in a way that damages our reputation.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these rules.
9. Intellectual property
The App, including its software, design, content, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Property Edge Tradings Limited or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its content without our written permission.
Estimates produced by the App are for your personal use. You are welcome to share them with contractors, friends, or family for the purpose of getting quotes or planning work. You may not republish them as part of a competing commercial service.
10. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the App (scans, photos, notes, enquiry text). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to:
- Store and process the content as needed to provide the App's service;
- Use it in anonymised, aggregated form to improve the App;
- Use it internally to prepare your quote when you send an enquiry.
We will not use your content for any other purpose without your consent.
11. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services (Apple, Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, and others). Their own terms and privacy policies apply when their services are used. We have no control over those services and are not responsible for them.
12. About the "Property Edge" brand
The App is published by Property Edge Tradings Limited, which trades under the brand name "Property Edge". When you see "Property Edge" in the App or on the App Store, that's our trading brand. When you see "Property Edge Tradings Limited", that's our legal company name. They refer to the same business.
Sending an enquiry through the App does not create a contract for work. Any work you ask us to carry out is the subject of a separate agreement between you and us.
13. Our liability to you
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by UK law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with the App is limited to the amount you have paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable to you for:
- Indirect or consequential losses;
- Loss of profit, business, or expected savings;
- Loss caused by your reliance on an estimate, beyond the limit set out above;
- Loss caused by third-party services (Apple and other service providers);
- Loss caused by events outside our reasonable control (internet outages, hardware failures, force majeure events).
We provide the App on a "reasonable skill and care" basis as required by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Profile → Privacy & data → Delete my account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You breach these Terms;
- We reasonably suspect fraud or other illegal activity on your account;
- We are required to do so by law;
- We discontinue the App (we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data).
On termination, your right to use the App ends immediately. The provisions of these Terms that are intended to survive termination (such as sections 9, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 16) will continue to apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:
- Notify you in the App and by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect;
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms;
- Keep previous versions available on request.
If you continue to use the App after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you have a dispute with us, please first contact developer@property-edge.co.uk. We will do our best to resolve it informally.
If we cannot resolve a dispute, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
